Joe Duffy made his UFC debut in March 2015 with a mightily impressive TKO victory over Jake Lindsey inside 36 seconds in Las Vegas.
A disappointing loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 195 came between two submission wins, one of which earned him the Performance of the Night award. His most recent bout went the distance at UFC Fight Night London with the Donegal native edging out Reza Madidi on the scorecards.
Irish Joe has caught the eye of many in the MMA community with his performances and has today been rewarded with a significant new contract with the UFC, his manager has revealed. Ariel Helwani broke the news on Twitter.

It’s a massive backing of 29-year-old Duffy from the promotion and is unquestionably no less than he deserves.
The lightweight is likely to enter the octagon once again later this year as he looks to move up the ladder in his division. With Conor McGregor potentially vacating the title he won in New York last November sooner rather than later, if Duffy can put a string of victories together during this deal, a shot at the 155-pound belt at some stage isn’t completely out of the question.
