Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino has asked MMA fans to pray for her ex-husband Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos, whose skull was fractured in a bout with England’s Michael Page at Bellator 158 on Saturday night.
Justino made the plea through an Instagram post which also included two disturbing pictures of Santos and a rather worrying update on his condition.

The injury occurred when Page landed a brutal flying knee to Santos’ forehead late in the second round of a welterweight bout at the O2 Arena. ‘Cyborg’ fell to the ground holding his head and ‘Big’ John McCarthy instantly waved the fight off. Page didn’t even attempt to mount a follow-up attack.
The seriousness of the Brazilian fighter’s injury wasn’t immediately apparent, but MMA journalist Nick Strickland reported via Twitter later in the evening that Santos had been diagnosed with a depressed fracture and would require surgery.
In an earlier piece on the situation, we suggested that the 38-year-old veteran had already been in the operating theatre, but Justino’s post indicates otherwise.
Joe Rogan shared Justino’s update shortly after it was published, and the veteran UFC commentator called this the worst MMA injury he had ever seen.
