Ido Portal Now Working With One Of British MMA’s Most Frightening Prospects

Ido Portal seem’s to have linked up with one of British MMA’s most promising and exciting prospects.

Prior to Conor McGregor’s UFC 194 fight with Jose Aldo, the inclusion of so-called ‘movement coach’ Ido Portal in the Irishman’s camp garnered a great deal of attention. Footage of the Israeli guiding McGregor through all-manner of different drills had surfaced through the fighter’s social media accounts, and as the bout got closer, the UFC’s Embedded vlog series also displayed some of the unusual training techniques that the Straight Blast Gym representative was now utilizing.

Many observers rolled their eyes at the Portal led antics, while others were worried by the idea that “The Notorious” one had strayed too far from a tried and trusted approach at the most pivotal time in his career.

After McGregor dusted Aldo in a mere 13-seconds, however, the outlook changed somewhat. Suddenly everybody was interested in what Portal had to offer.

With his name so strongly connected with one of the signature performances of arguably the biggest name in the sport, other MMA fighter’s are now seeking out Portal and his expertise. According to a recent post from his Instagram account, one caged combat athlete who has chosen to do so is Bellator’s perpetual violence machine Michael “Venom” Page.

The lanky Londoner is undefeated in 9 professional outings thus far and his scintillating exploits have made him something of an internet sensation. If you haven’t laid your action-hungry eyes on him yet, check out the examples of his savagery below….

Portal seems like he might be a good fit for Page, as the welterweight is another highly-unorthodox stand-up stylist with unique movement and timing, who’s unpredictability is one of his greatest strengths. He also appears open-minded and willing to embrace new ideas.

Judging from the comments included in the aforementioned Instagram post, Page was impressed by his initial experiences with Portal, so this looks like a working relationship that will continue.

Page will next see action at Bellator 151 on March 4th when he takes on veteran Fernando Gonzalez.
