UFC Heavyweight Brendan Schaub told the listeners of Joe Rogan’s podcast recently that he was “too much [of a man]” for his ex-girlfriend Ronda Rousey.
While a guest on the UFC commentator’s enormously successful internet show, Schaub opened up about his relationship with the queen of women’s MMA. “She needs a guy who’s going to take a backseat. That’s not me”, said Schaub. The big man went on to add that Rousey needed someone who was going to agree with her on everything, or as he put it a person who would simply say “yes ma’am, yes ma’am”.
Schaub seemed to indicate that this was the very reason the pair went their separate ways. “She’s so successful, she’s surrounded by people that worship her and go ‘yes, yes, that’s a great idea’. But when I said ‘I don’t think that’s a good idea’, now I’m a hater”, stated the outspoken fighter, who has been inactive since late last year.
At that point Joe Rogan stepped in to put an end to proceedings “out of respect for” Rousey, who wasn’t present to speak for herself.
This must be music to the ears of yes men everywhere.
