George St-Pierre Lobbying for Michael Bisping Title Fight

Only two weeks on since winning the UFC middleweight championship, Michael Bisping already has two opponents in mind for his first title defense.

Bisping snatched the middleweight title from Luke Rockhold earlier this month at UFC 199 and since then has shown no interest in giving the Cali-native an immediate rematch.

Instead, Bisping is interested in facing former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, who for some time now has teased a return to the octagon.

On the Fox Sport’s Jay and Dan Show recently(via MMAFighting), Bisping stated he was completely open to facing the Canadian and that people from St-Pierre’s camp recently got in touch with “The Count”.

“I actually had some people reach out to me and say ‘Georges St-Pierre is interested in fighting you’,” Bisping said on Fox Sports. “Yes, some people from his camp. I was like ‘Really, wow. Okay.'”

“Tell him to sign the dotted line, just like (what I said about Dan) Henderson, if he really wants to come out of retirement.”

St-Pierre hasn’t fought inside the octagon since his 2013 welterweight title defense against Johny Hendricks. The Canadian announced a self-imposed hiatus following the fight, with speculation of his return a hot topic ever since.

Bisping has also expressed interest in facing Dan Henderson, who recently picked up a vicious knockout win over Hector Lombard at UFC 199 – see it here.

Following the win, the former PRIDE FC and Strikeforce champion spoke of retirement, after nearly 20 years in the sport.

Seeing a short window of opportunity, Bisping called Henderson out, hoping he can avenge his 2009 knockout loss before he bows out of the sport

“Dan Henderson is a guy that actually does interest me,” Bisping told the Jay and Dan on Fox Sports Live. “He obviously has a great knockout victory over me back in the day and he’s gonna retire soon so I want to get revenge for that loss before he retires. He was on testosterone replacement therapy in that fight. I didn’t even know that existed. Dan, you’re a cheat. Let’s do it anytime you want, you old [expletive word].

“He knocked out the posing dwarf, Hector Lombard. So if you want to come and try it – hey buddy, lightning doesn’t strike twice so if you’re interested sign on the dotted line you old piece of sh*t.”

Bisping is well-trained in the art of selling fights and is guaranteed to put on a show against whoever signs the dotted line.

It’s unknown how much sway the Brit has over the premier MMA promotion, but if Georges St-Pierre is knocking, both Bisping and the UFC will no doubt answer.
