Cody Garbrandt’s upcoming bantamweight fight against T.J. Dillashaw has been thrown into major doubt.

The two Ultimate Fighter 25 coaches were set to come together at UFC 213 in Nevada in July, but the champion’s recent social media activity, suggesting that he will be heading to Germany to undergo a procedure for a back problem, that he may soon be withdrawing from the bout citing his injury concern.

While the 25-year-old did not expressly state that he would be unable to defend the title at 213, Dillashaw already seems to believe that this will be Garbrandt’s end game. He also took to social media on Friday, citing the fact that Garbrandt has pulled out of the UFC Summer Kickoff Press Conference as a sign that withdrawing from the fight itself will follow:

“I SMELL SOMEONE TRYING TO PULL OUT OF A FIGHT.”

“My flights were cancelled on me last minute to be at the “UFC Summer Kickoff” press conference today because Cody doesn’t want to go.”

The Bantamweight champ is yet to respond to Dillashaw’s allegations, but it remains to be seen now if the fight will go ahead as planned.
