The Full Mouth Watering UFC 213 Card After This Week’s Announcements

Well, UFC 213 is set to be an absolute barnstormer…

Having not heard from Nate Diaz in some time, MMA fans were treated to an hour and a half long interview with the Stockton man on Wednesday evening as he sat down for a lengthy back and forth with Ariel Helwani.

Nate discussed a number of topics over the course of the 90 minutes with an imaginative school cafeteria based scenario proving to be one of the most entertaining highlights. However, Nate’s revelation that he had been offered a main event slot at UFC 213 was undoubtedly the biggest talking point of the interview.

The UFC 213 main event has proven to be somewhat of a mystery for some time after the promotion had initially suggested that the highly anticipated clash between Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw would take the co-main event slot.

However, with the UFC and Diaz apparently unable to reach an agreement with regard to the proposed interim lightweight title fight with Tony Ferguson, it now seems as if the bantamweight bout will take the top spot.

However, that has not yet been confirmed and some are still suggesting that a light heavyweight bout involving Jon Jones may take top billing, while noise coming from Tyron Woodley has suggested that he may well defend his belt in the UFC 213 main event.

Whatever way it pans out, the rest of the card already features several mouthwatering match ups with UFC 213 guaranteed to be a blockbuster event for the promotion.

Amanda Nunes hasn’t been seen in the octagon since her emphatic first round victory over Ronda Rousey back at UFC 207 and the Brazilian will be defending her belt on the July card against the highly rated Valentina Shevchenko.

The UFC officially confirmed what many will view as the people’s main event this week with Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and Robbie Lawler set to throw down in what will undoubtedly be an absolute barnstormer.

Former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis also returns to 155 after an unsuccessful flurry into the featherweight ranks while a heavyweight clash between Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem is also sure to deliver.
