Our headline and the official records may say “7 seconds”, but really Bruno “Bulldog” Silva, an alumnus of the fourth season of The Ultimate Fighter(TUF) Brazil, was unconscious about 4 or 5 seconds into his bout with the relatively inexperienced Adalto Prado on Saturday night in Sao Paulo.
Silva came into the bantamweight contest at Aspera FC 44 with a record of 9-2 as a professional, not including his win and loss on TUF which are considered exhibition bouts, while his opponent was entering just his fifth bout in the paid ranks. However, experience never entered the equation, as a ferocious roundhouse kick from Prado instantly robbed Silva of his consciousness and sent him hurtling, limp toward the canvas.
A follow-up blow was entirely unnecessary, as the referee had begun her dart toward the fighters before Silva had even hit the ground.
It was both Prado’s first KO victory and Silva’s first KO defeat.
