Donald Cerrone is preparing to rematch UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, but it sounds like he wouldn’t mind a piece of Conor McGregor in the near future.
Last night’s UFC Go Big press conference gave MMA fans plenty of talking points. Most of them involved Conor McGregor in some shape or form.
“The Notorious” stole the show in Las Vegas, aiming trash-talk at almost everybody that joined him on the stage. Chad Mendes, Rafael dos Anjos, and of course his UFC 194 opponent Jose Aldo were all subject to verbal dressing downs courtesy of the mouth of the Dublin native. Former lightweight title holder, Frankie Edgar, only escaped his ire because he admitted that Conor was the “money fight” for everybody at featherweight.
One star who gave Conor as good as he got, however, was Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
The man who challenges dos Anjos for the lightweight strap the week after McGregor’s date with Aldo, warned Conor that he couldn’t hang with the best fighters in the 155lbs division.“We are too big and too strong, so you can take your little English ass on get on…”, said Cerrone before being interrupted by the Irishman.
That wasn’t the end of the exchanges though. To hear all of this war of words check out the video below.
Given that in the last few days Conor has repeatedly expressed an intention to move up in weight, this is a fight that could happen in the future.
And after this heated little exchange many fans will be hoping it does.
