Not long ago, one or both of the Diaz brothers seemed destined to feature at UFC 209. However, with the weeks now ticking down to the March 4th event, it now looks as if neither will be on the Las Vegas card.
With Nate Diaz recently stating that he wants $20 million to step foot in the octagon again, and Nick Diaz reportedly refusing to fight unless he is handed a title shot, it currently seems as if Dana White has dismissed the brothers’ requests as lunacy.
The UFC 209 card is coming together nicely with two huge bouts booked to headline the event in the form of a rematch between Tyron Woodley and Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson and a highly anticipated lightweight bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
However, with the 209 number being so central to the Diaz identity, it seems a massive shame that the Stockton pair shall be omitted from the Las Vegas card.
