Darren Till’s rise through the UFC welterweight ranks has been hugely exciting to date, as the 25-year-old beat a path through his opponents, with the most recent win over Donald Cerrone confirming his status as a top prospect.
With UFC heading for Liverpool on May 27, it needed a high profile main event, and that’s exactly what’s happening as Till is set to fight Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson.

Aside from facing champion Tyron Woodley, this is the biggest fight in the division for Till right now.
Wonderboy lost a majority decision to Woodley last March, after a draw, but got back on the horse with a unanimous decision victory over Jorge Masvidal in November to underline his status as the top contender in the division.
This bout will come as a huge test for Till, as it will reveal just how quickly he has progressed since joining the promotion.
