Well, this was rather refreshing to see…
In the midst of the Conor McGregor era, MMA seems to have lost its way somewhat with fighters becoming increasingly obsessed with ‘money fights’ rather than championship belts.
Several divisions have now been stalled by champions waiting for blockbuster fights rather than taking on the respective number one contender and, with Conor McGregor pursuing a ‘superfight’ with Floyd Mayweather, some other MMA stars have also begun to also look outside of their own sport.
Nate Diaz has recently procured a boxing licence in two separate states while Jimi Manuwa and David Haye have also entertained some verbal warfare with the duo interested in featuring on a Mayweather/McGregor undercard.
However, it seems that at least one UFC fighter is cutting through the BS with Daniel Cormier giving a refreshingly honest answer when asked how he’d fair against World Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
@dc_mma how do you think you'd do against someone like Anthony Joshua? Boxing not mma!! Honestly though

I would get knocked out so fast!!! All of us would in a BOXING match. We CANT outbox these dudes in straight boxing matches man. https://t.co/Zk8aJx0aPx

Cormier went onto state that with the tables turned, MMA fighters would certainly come out on top with boxers standing little to no chance inside of the octagon.
Yes they would get mauled. Conor fights Floyd mma. Floyd doesn't last 3 minutes https://t.co/YTunXsBujC
