Daniel Cormier Posts Worrying Post-Weight Cut Tweet Ahead Of UFC 220

UFC 220 is all systems go ahead of Saturday night and it is a card that is certain not to disappoint.

The main and co-main event are heavyweight and light-heavyweight title bouts respectively, meaning fans are in for two barnstormers at the top of the card.

In the co-main, Daniel Cormier puts the 205-lbs title he lost at UFC 214 but was re-awarded with following the Jon Jones’ failed drugs test in the wake of that bout on the line against the trail-blazing Volkan Ozedemir.

DC is looking to reinstate his authority as the kingpin of the division in the absence of his arch nemesis as Jones yet again battles his demons outside of the cage, whereas Ozedemir is the package that has come out of nowhere in the light-heavyweight division.

The Swiss has plodded his way through the rankings like a silent assassin and vows to knock his veteran opponent out come Saturday night.

There was drama, as always, at Cormier’s weigh-in on Friday morning as he was the very last of all 22 fighters competing on the card to take the scales. When an anxious, gaunt and visibly distressed DC finally emerged from backstage he tipped the scales at the 205-lbs limit. The room erupted into cheering and applause as everybody breathed a sigh of relief.

This reaction is common practise for when DC makes weight at light-heavyweight. It is no secret whatsoever that the champ struggles with his weight-cutting and finds it tough every single time.

Well, after successfully weighing in earlier, the 38-year-old soon after tweeted the following, illustrating exactly how excruciating he found his weight-cut.

As unhappy DC appears and admittedly is in the above picture during the process of making weight, it is incredible to think that in approximately just 36 hours he will be competing at the highest level of mixed martial arts.

Volkan has been warned!
