Conor McGregor has already featured in several pay-per-view events in his still young career, however this one is certainly something else entirely.
With talk of the Irishman potentially taking on Floyd Mayweather in a super-fight this year, interest in McGregor’s next move is at an all time high. Although Mayweather is firing out soundbites on a daily basis, the ‘Notorious’ Irishman is keeping relatively quiet of late.
However, it now seems as if there is a reason for the 28-year-old’s blackout as, on Tuesday evening, the news was confirmed that McGregor will be featuring in a ‘pay-per-view interview’ with highly regarded MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani.
Honored and excited to be a part of this. Who will be in Manchester on Jan. 28? One hour sit-down w/ McGregor in front of a live audience. https://t.co/DlXpwHD2RH

A statement from the event’s website described the evening as follows;
“In a World Exclusive event, the Notorious Conor McGregor will be live at “An Experience With Conor McGregor” in Manchester, UK. For the first time anywhere in the world, Conor will talk about his life and his career in the longest unscripted interview seen to date, with highly respected interviewer Ariel Helwani. This is your chance to be there, watch the show live and listen to Conor’s story from the comfort of your own home.”
Although interest in the event will undoubtedly be high, McGregor is receiving criticism from many quarters for the event, with many finding it outrageous that he would charge fans to stream an interview online.

Having said all that, the price isn’t exactly extortionate at £3.99 per buy and for those interested, the interview will take place Saturday, January 28 at 9 pm GMT.
