UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor took to Instagram on Friday to deny rumours that he is taking a break from MMA in anticipation of his pending left-field announcement following his fight with Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.
McGregor will square off against Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight title next Saturday in Madison Square Garden as the Dubliner will attempt to become the first fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two different UFC titles at the same time.
However, McGregor has been hinting for months now that he has a big announcement to make following UFC 205 with only a handful of people aware of what the Crumlin native has planned.
Rumours have been circulating over the last few weeks that McGregor intends to take a break from fighting to concentrate on settling down with longtime partner Dee Devlin, who the Irish Mirror suggested could be pregnant earlier this week.
However, McGregor shot down any such suggestion of a break with a blunt Instagram post which read “I break jaws and I break records and I don’t take breaks.”
McGregor will face Alvarez in the main event at UFC 205 which will be shown live on Sunday morning on BT Sport 2.
