Blindboy Reveals Contents Of Private Message Sent By Conor McGregor Following Bus Incident

Conor McGregor is a fan of Blindboy and the respect appears to be reciprocated. However, the ‘Notorious’ Irish fighter did not react very well when the Rubberbandits member compared him to Tupac after his invasion of a UFC media day.

Last week, the MMA world watched on in disbelief as Conor McGregor was escorted out the doors of a New York Police Department in handcuffs.

The Notorious had turned himself in after some shocking footage spread around the globe of the 29-year-old and a group of men viciously attacking a bus filled with UFC fighters at the Barclays Centre in New York.

NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 06: Ultimate fighting star Conor McGregor stands with his lawyer Jim Walden during an arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal court on April 6, 2018 in New York City. McGregor is facing criminal charges in the wake of a backstage melee he allegedly instigated that has forced the removal of three fighters from UFC's biggest card of the year. Since then, McGregor has remained pretty tightlipped as he waits to have his case heard on the 4th of June. However, speaking on his hugely popular podcast, Irish commentator and comedian Blindboy detailed a bizarre message that he had received from the UFC superstar.

First detailing his somewhat positive relationship with and admiration for McGregor, the Rubberbandits member then revealed a private Twitter message that he received from the 29-year-old after he compared his behaviour to that of Tupac in the months leading up to his murder.

‘Be very careful speaking on my name without full facts,’ McGregor apparently said. ‘Are you assuming I’m to be shot soon with your Tupac reference? By your response it seems that way. I respect you and your opinions regarding the treatment of Irish people by our own Government. I have listened to many of your talks.

But do not ever speak my name in this disrespectful vein again.

You are a man with a bag on his head, don’t get left in it.

Having openly revealed the contents of the private message, Blindboy then explained that the message was not a threat despite the somewhat ominous reference to getting left with a plastic bag on his head.

McGregor just reminded me of how Tupac was behaving. I certainly wasn’t suggesting that he was going to be shot.

And for McGregor to get pissed off about that he’s completely in his rights because you can’t go on Twitter pontificating or fucking wondering about another human being’s life ending. That’s not my style. I would never do that.

So I just responded back to him, I was embarrassed. I didn’t know what to say, I just responded back ‘Sorry Conor. When I tweet shit like that I forget that there’s a real person behind it all that might be reading it. I’m going to delete it and no I never meant nothing about you getting shot just reminded me of Tupac scrapping in Las Vegas. I’m just spouting internet shite. Look after yourself’…

I know a lot of journalists listen to this podcast. I know it’s your job, but do me a favour. Please don’t go writing a big, stupid clickbait article about Conor McGregor threatening Blindboy.

He didn’t threaten me. He took exception to something I said. And even though the end says ‘you’re a man with a bag on his head, don’t get left in it’, that’s not a threat. He is not theatening me. He still follows me on Twitter.
