Throughout the world press tour which brought Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather to four cities in three countries to hype up their upcoming fight, there were countless jibes thrown each way, even if a punch was not.
McGregor constantly described the bout as “half a fight”, in reference to the limits of boxing in comparison to MMA.
In response, Mayweather at one point suggested that he would cross over to mixed martial arts after the boxing showdown.
In Dana White’s latest video blog, there is footage of McGregor and the UFC President joking about such a move in the aftermath of the London press conference.
“The beautiful thing about this game is that you’ve got to answer for what you’ve been saying,” declared McGregor.
“He’s said a lot! KOs, UFC… we’ve got him to [come into] MMA now! Sign him to a prelim deal after this!”
White was quick to pour cold water on the prospect.
“He wouldn’t even go for smaller boxing gloves. Do you think he’s going to [enter MMA]? He’s full of sh*t.”
