UFC Lightweight contender Conor McGregor could face a possible suspension on Monday for his role in the August 17 melee with Nate Diaz at the UFC 202 press conference in Las Vegas.
McGregor engaged in altercation with Diaz towards the end of the Vegas press conference with the two lightweight fighters throwing water bottles and energy drink cans at each other over spectators and photographers.
Fox Sports confirmed on Wednesday that McGregor’s hearing is scheduled to go ahead on Monday with White fearing that the Dubliner may face suspension as well as a hefty fine.
“They’re both getting punished,” White told TMZ Sports.
“What everybody’s got to understand is that we’re overseen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. I guarantee both of these guys are going to get massive fines. And there’s probably gonna be a hearing too after the fight.
“There could be suspensions and community service. It’s going to be ugly!”

Elsewhere both Jon Jones and former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will have their hearings pushed back until November after both fighters requested continuances in their hearings, while Nate Diaz also requested a continuance for his hearing and is likely to have his hearing pushed back as well.
