Tomorrow, Tuesday the 11th of July, we will finally see Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. come face to face for the first time, as the opening media event of the expansive press tour for the pair’s August 26th clash takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Ahead of what is sure to be a three-ring circus, McGregor touched down in LA on Sunday evening and apparently ran into UFC president Dana White right there on the airport runway.
White posted the following picture of his chance meeting with ‘The Notorious’ to social media…

McGregor himself subsequently shared the same snap, adding his own tag, “Presidents.”
Not all that surprisingly, the photo drew McGregor foe and frequent thorn in White’s side, Nate Diaz, out from the social media shadows. Diaz, who hasn’t fought since losing a majority decision to McGregor last August at UFC 202, shared the picture, offering the sort of comment that one would expect from the Stockton native.
“Little bitches,” wrote Diaz on Instagram. “You got your ass beat. You lost bitch, I’m the champ.”
Diaz then posted two photos, one of him Stockton slapping White and the other of him distributing the famous strike to McGregor. “There’s 1 boss here,” added Diaz. “@ufc don’t forget to repost my shit.”
While McGregor gears up for Mayweather, Diaz’s future looks increasingly uncertain. He told Ariel Helwani on a May edition of The MMA Hour that he won’t fight until he is presented with a match-up that gets his competitive juices flowing and the financial terms proposed are to his liking. Meanwhile, he has seemingly rejected a couple of bouts offered to him by the UFC, most notably one with top lightweight contender Tony Ferguson.
