According to Urijah Faber, he and Conor McGregor have already had a rematch of their little scuffle from backstage at the UFC 189 weigh-in.
The fighters, who are currently facing off as coaches on the latest installment of The Utimate Fighter series, famously engaged in a rather strange tussle outside a bathroom in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, on the 10th of July, the night before the Dubliner was scheduled to face Faber’s teammate, Chad Mendes.
In a recent interview with Jonathan Shrager of mixedmartialarts.com, Faber claimed that during filming for the television vehicle he and McGregor had to be seperated by Conor’s training partner, Tom Egan.
“We were testing each other a little bit, and then we were like manhandling each other, and it always ends up with him getting pissed off”, said “The California Kid”.
Though the two fighters will not follow their dueling as coaches with a bout in the octagon, Faber revealed that he feels a fight between the two “will probably happen at some point”. If season 22 of “TUF” ends up being dramatic and entertaining as one would expect with these two involved, that fight will surely become a must-see attraction.
The video also includes some interesting analysis of the McGregor vs Mendes fight, and insights into Mendes’ preparation for the bout.
It is an interview well worth watching….
