Despite his loss at UFC 203, CM Punk came in for a huge pay-day. The former WWE star tried his hand at mixed martial arts, and was taught a lesson by Mickey Gall in the octagon.

There is doubt lingering over his future within the promotion, with Dana White suggesting that he should go elsewhere for his next fight.

As reported by MMA Fighting, Alistair Overeem was the biggest earner of the night, earning a cool $800,000 for his loss to champion Stipe Miocic $600,000.

CM Punk was the next highest earner with $500,000.

This shows that there is still a big emphasis on fighters who can sell bouts in the promotion.

Here is a full breakdown of the pay-outs:

Stipe Miocic ($600,000 + no win bonus = $600,000) def. Alistair Overeem ($800,000)
