Chael Sonnen Goes On Hilarious Twitter Rant Ahead Of His Wanderlei Silva Showdown This Weekend

Chael Sonnen is preparing to fight his arch nemesis Wanderlie Silva at Bellator NYC this weekend, which takes place at the famed Madison Square Garden Arena.

The Sonnen-Silva rivalry stems all the way back to 2014, when the fighter’s faced off as coaches in The Ultimate Fighter.

The pair came to physical blows and one particular brawl stands out in the memory:

Both men, formerly of the UFC and now under contract with the Bellator promotion, have made it abundantly clear that they will never be friends.

Wanderlei holds a grudge against Chael for speaking in vain about his native Brazil and persistently making derogatory personal remarks about him. On the other hand, it is blatantly obvious how much disdain Sonnen holds for his opponent on Saturday night. They really have a genuine grudge against one another, making this one of the longest running and real rivalries the sport of MMA has ever seen.

They were scheduled to fight at UFC 175 back in July 2014 but both competitors ran into doping trouble. With both fighters subsequently handed lengthy suspensions from the sport, they still have not thrown down inside the octagon.

Finally, on Saturday night a score will be settled.

We will get to see the Sonnen-Silva scrap we have all been waiting for. No matter how far the fight is perceived to be past it’s sell by-date, MMA fans will be itching with excitement for this one.

The Brazilian has been inactive in the sport since March 2013 where as 40-year-old, Sonnen, is fresh off the back of a defeat in his Bellator debut to Tito Ortiz.

While Wanderlie has confirmed at the pre-fight press conference, where he also shoved his opponent, that he will not touch gloves or shake hands with his fiercest rival this weekend, ‘The American Gangster’ went on this hilarious rant of tweets ahead of the bout to illustrate just how the fight is going to pan out:

Never one to mince his words, was Chael.
