Former UFC fighter Cathal Pendred has landed a role on a new tv series. The retired fighter will play a lead role in new Amazon series ‘Lore.’
Fox Sports have reported the news of Pendred’s new on-screen role outside of the octagon.
‘Lore’ is a new anthology series which was formerly a podcast, will be aired on Amazon. The horror series is based upon this podcast and recounts stories of paranormal activities.
Pendred, who fought out of SBG Ireland and trained under John Kavanagh, will play the lead role of Michael Cleary. Cleary “A Cooper who makes barrels for a local creamery, Michael is married to the younger Bridget. When Bridget starts making more money than he does, and starts questioning his decisions, Michael is convinced that his loving wife has been replaced by a changeling — and he will do literally anything to prove himself right”.
Fans of the former UFC welterweight will be aware that this is not Pendred’s first acting role since departing the UFC. He has also played parts in ‘Into The Badland’ and ‘Ray Donovan’ since hanging up his gloves.
A talented rugby player in his time also, this will be his first starring role. Pendred will be joined by actors such as Robert Patrick who starred in ‘The Terminator 2.’ While Gale Anne-Hurd, who is best known for her work on ‘The Walking Dead’ is expected to produce the new show.
