Brett Okamoto: Conor McGregor & Dana White Have Scheduled New York Meeting

Top MMA journalist Brett Okamoto has broken a rather significant scoop regarding Conor McGregor’s return to fighting.

Having secured the lightweight title at UFC 205, Conor McGregor immediately confirmed that he would be taking some time away from the octagon as he awaited the birth of his first child.

Although himself and Dana White seemed to disagree on the length of said break, it now seems as if the Irishman won’t be taking very long to focus on his parenting duties.

McGregor’s baby is expected later this month and, according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, the SBG man has already scheduled a meeting with the UFC President shortly after the child has arrived.

Although many would have assumed that a meeting between the pair would only ever concern activities that may eventually unravel inside an octagon, in recent weeks, White has admitted that he will do everything he can to assist the Irishman in booking his proposed super-fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Expanding on his initial tweet Okamoto revealed that McGregor’s meeting with the UFC President will indeed involve that bout and that they will look to iron out the final creases in order to get the fight made.

Although the McGregor vs Mayweather bout was scoffed at by many for some months, official confirmation of the fight now appears to be a matter of when rather than if.
