When Conor McGregor arrived in the UFC in 2013, Jose Aldo was already viewed as one of the greatest fighters in the MMA promotion. However, just three years later, McGregor already has the exact same record in the company as the former pound for pound number one.
Despite the fact that Aldo made his UFC debut a full two years ahead of Conor McGregor, the Irishman has already caught up with the Brazilian in terms of appearances.
Having withdrawn from a jaw-dropping five title defences for various reasons, Aldo has only fought 9 times in the UFC since making his first appearance in April of 2011.
McGregor arrived on the scene in the same month two years later. However, fighting roughly three times a year since then, the ‘Notorious’ star has already amassed the same amount of fights.
With Aldo only losing one bout to McGregor and the SBG man infamously suffering a shock defeat at the hands of Nate Diaz at UFC 196, both men also share the exact same win to loss ratio with 8 victories and one defeat each in the UFC.
