Artem Lobov has over the past couple of months become very bold with his calls for fights. Now, however, he has taken it to the next level by calling out former featherweight king Jose Aldo.

Lobov, whose record isn’t exactly outstanding, has been ambitious with his calls in the past. The Russian Hammer has never been one to shy away from a challenge, however.

The sparring partner of Conor McGregor had lacked respect from the MMA community up until recently. Many believed his spot in the UFC was solely due to his training partner.

The SBG fighter was rewarded for his courage with a bout against highly ranked Cub Swanson recently. Lobov performed well but was in all honesty outclassed by Swanson. The 33-year-old took the fight on a decision victory.

Since then Lobov has been aiming to get back into the octagon against another big name. He has previously called out ‘The Korean Superboy’ Choi Doo-Ho. Lobov’s calls went unheard, however.

Now in an even more outlandish call, Lobov has decided he wants to take on the most successful featherweight in history, Jose Aldo.

The Russian Hammer did not do this in a brash manner, however, and was rather respectful in his call. Taking to Twitter, Lobov had the following to say.

Realistically, Aldo is unlikely to accept the fight, unless he feels he needs a victory to bounce back. While Lobov is tough as nails and may take Aldo to a decision, he is unlikely to pose much problems to the Brazilian.

Still, one must admire Lobov’s bravery once more. Perhaps it’s his mixture of Russian and Irish culture which awards him such courage, whatever it is, Lobov is most certainly a man who defines the word fearless.

Would Jose Aldo fancy reclaiming a victory over SBG Ireland? Maybe. Fans of Artem Lobov, however, would most certainly be excited by the prospect of taking on a true legend of the fight game.
