After winning four fights in a row in the UFC, Jason Knight has suffered two tough losses which will surely see him drop out of the top fifteen in the featherweight division.
Knight got knocked out by Ricardo Lamas at UFC 214, but he took that fight on short notice. Last night’s loss will be a lot tougher to take for the 25-year-old.
Gabriel Benitez put on an outstanding performance, piecing up Knight on the feet for the majority of the bout. Benitez’s performance was not what everyone was talking about after the fight though. Instead, the talk was about Knight’s abysmal display, and mostly about the fact that he committed a couple of very serious fouls – both biting Benitez’s finger and poking him in the eye during the contest.
Knight was rightfully deducted a point for biting Benitez in the first round, which led to the socrecards looking even more lopsided than they would have otherwise been. The final tallies were 30-26, 20-26 and 29-27 in favour of Benitez.

Biting, eye poke. Jason Knight just needs to execute a nut shot to complete the holy trinity. #UFCFresno

Hold up, Jason Knight bit that man's finger? Like, with his mouth? Then he just tried to apologize like, hey my bad? What?!

Jason Knight didn’t look like the same guy who came into the Lamas fight over the summer. That was a bad beating. #UFCFresno

I’m not saying Jason Knight had a bad weight cut, but he tried to eat Benitez in the 1st round. #ufc
