Strawweights Aisling Daly and Michelle Waterson will both break lengthy spells of inactivity when they face each other at UFC Fight Night 93 in Hamburg on September 3rd.
SBG Ireland’s Daly hasn’t fought since October of last year and UFC Fight Night 76 at Dublin’s O2 Arena. On that night, it was Daly’s emotional walkout that grabbed the headlines, as the veteran and her hometown crowd sang along in unison to ‘Zombie’ by the Cranberries, dispensing chills to MMA fans worldwide. The Ultimate Fighter alumnus didn’t disappoint when she entered the cage either, turning in a career best display to top Ericka Almeida via unanimous decision.
Waterson has endured through an even longer spell on the sidelines.
Due to a variety of injury woes, the Jackson Wink fighter hasn’t competed since making her promotional debut in July of 2015, when she submitted Angela Magana in the third round at The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale. That was also Waterson’s first fight at Strawweight since January 2012, as she began competing exclusively in the Atomweight division when she joined Invicta FC later that year.

UFC Hamburg is headlined by a contest between two former heavyweight champions, Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett. The event will also feature the return to action of exciting two-time light-heavyweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson, as well as an intriguing bout between 205-pounders Ilir Latifi and Ryan Bader.
