On Wednesday evening, Daniel Cormier announced on UFC on Fox that he had received a call from Dana White and that he was being reinstated as the light heavyweight champion.
The news came on the back of the conclusion of a long saga involving another failed drug test from Jon Jones which led to the 30-year-old being stripped of his title for the second time.
Cormier spoke excellently about his thoughts on the UFC 214 bout and everything that had happened since, before the Fox panel eventually turned their attention to the man of the moment; Conor McGregor.
There is currently huge interest in the lightweight champion and his next fight with countless fighters and pundits weighing in on who the Irishman will face next.
Although most seem to think that a trilogy bout with Nate Diaz is inevitable, Daniel Cormier had a very interesting theory on who will end up booking the UFC’s ‘money fight’.
It’s a bit out there but, given the fact that DC had only stated earlier in the show that he had been speaking to Dana White this week, it’s certainly worth the listen.
