Yesterday, we alerted your attention to a clip in which it was claimed that UFC heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou recently set a new world record for force generated with a single punch. The clip was a snippet from, and a promo for, a profile on the enormous Cameroonian-French fighter called Rising Stars: Francis Ngannou, the entire episode of which was released today.
UFC president Dana White has long raved about Ngannou and earlier this year suggested that the year-old knockout artist has the potential to be “the next big thing, literally and figuratively.”
And it’s not just White that is excited by Ngannou either. By scoring five straight finishes and running his overall record to 10-1 since arriving in the UFC, ‘The Predator’ has gotten everybody – from fans, to media, to coaches and even his peers – talking.
In Rising Stars, we hear from the likes of UFC light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, top coaches like Firas Zahabi, Mark Henry and Duke Roufus, as well as commentators Jon Anik and Joe Rogan, all of whom seem more than a little impressed with Ngannou’s exploits thus far.
Next weekend, Ngannou faces the biggest test of his brief but explosive professional career thus far when he takes on former Strikeforce heavyweight champion and recent UFC heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem at UFC 218.
