Louisiana welterweight Alan Jouban ended a two-fight skid in brutal fashion on Saturday night in Orlando, as he knocked Ben Saunders out cold at UFC on Fox 28.
The KO came midway through the second round of a crackling affair when Saunders, who was struggling to put weight on his left leg thanks to Jouban’s consistency with the inside leg kick, was wobbled by a series of elbows before being absolutely flattened by a perfect left hand to the jaw.

After going 3-0 in 2016, Jouban had a poor 2017, tapping to a second-round Gunnar Nelson guillotine choke at UFC Fight Night 107 in March and suffering a first-round TKO defeat to Niko Price at UFC Fight Night 114 in August. This year has gotten off to a much better start for the 35-year-old, however, as he not only picked up the KO win on Saturday but also a performance bonus worth $50,000 for being involved in the ‘Fight of the Night.’
Jouban is now 7-4 in the UFC and 16-6 overall.
Saunders, who will also pocket 50k for his role in the welterweight barnburner, fell to his second straight stoppage defeat and dropped to 8-6 in the UFC. He is now 21-9-2 overall.
