Artem Lobov has kept his word and has returned the fine which Michael Johnson received for missing weight in their featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night 138.
Lobov said prior to the fight that if Johnson missed weight, he would return the money received from the athletic commission who would have taken it from Johnson’s purse.
Lobov’s original opponent for that bout, Zubaira Tukhugov, was suspended due to his part in the now famous UFC 229 melee which occurred after Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor.
Due to Johnson taking the fight on such short notice, The Russian Hammer said he would return any potential fine and he has.
In my book respect is always earned, never given. Hats off to @rushammer for not only a tough fight our last outing, but also being a man of your word. Respect was earned, hands down. #victory #teammenace #securethebag #bagsecured #menacecity #ufc pic.twitter.com/ifEIBinr95
