Getting that mental edge over your opponent in the UFC can oftentimes be the difference between victory and defeat.
Ahead of Saturday night’s UFC 228 event in Dallas, British fighter Craig White took to the scales to weigh in for his bout against 16-year veteran Diego Sanchez.
Both men made weight ahead of the welterweight fight, but it was during the staredown between the pair where things really began to get interesting.
White had made his UFC debut against Neil Magny in May, but despite coming up short in that bout he did not lack confidence as he came face to face with Diego Sanchez.
The Exmouth fighter leaned in and kissed Sanchez on the nose in one of the most bizarre staredowns in recent memory. “The Nightmare” of course took none too kindly to the gesture and had to be physically restrained by Dana White on the stage.
What a fight on @UFCFightPass!

It will be interesting to see if the notoriously aggressive Sanchez will be affected by the gesture come Saturday night as he looks to put a halt to a two-fight losing streak that he is currently on.
The pair face off on the prelims of the 228 card which is headlined by the welterweight title fight between champion Tyron Woodley and challenger Darren Till
