When it comes to hype promos, few organisations in the world do them better than the UFC.
With 229 on the horizon, the UFC released their newest promo hyping the main event lightweight title bout between champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and the returning challenger Conor McGregor.
The Crumlin native has not fought in the Octagon since November 2016 when he defeated Eddie Alvarez to become the UFC’s first ever two-weight world champion at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Nurmagomedov on the other hand last fought in April, winning the lightweight title by defeating Al Iaquinta at UFC 223, and the Dagestani fighter has been on a collision course with McGregor ever since the bus incident at that same event.
With the fight now almost upon us and the talking as good as done, the UFC released what could be their final promo ahead of the biggest fight in the promotion’s history.
The video is stunningly narrated by actor John Malkovich and encapsulates one of the sport’s most bitter rivalries in just under three minutes, with the premise being “There Can Only Be One King.”
The pair will step into the octagon at around 5.00am Irish time as they battle to determine who the true king of the 155lb division is.
