UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw has announced that he will be voluntarily relinquishing his title following an adverse test finding from USADA.
Dillashaw was defeated by flyweight champion Henry Cejudo in his last fight at UFC Brooklyn and released a statement on his Instagram account outlining his disappointment.
The 33-year-old was defeated in quick fashion by Cejudo as he looked to add the flyweight title to his 135lb belt.
There had been talk of a rematch between the pair at bantamweight with Dillashaw’s title on the line this time, but the recent news now means that that fight will have to be shelved for the time being.
The New York State Athletic Commission issued a one-year suspension as well as a $10,000 fine to Dillashaw following the adverse finding.
