You know you’ve made it when the shop literally comes to you.
This, however, is a luxury that former two-weight UFC world champion Conor McGregor can easily afford.
Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN, McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis explained that designer clothes brands like Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana literally bring their shop to the Notorious One’s house when he wants to splash some cash.
“When we were in the Hamptons in New York, Gucci and Dolce were bringing the stores to the house. They would drive like two or three hours, find a room in the house and close it off and make it into their own Gucci store for him to shop,” explained Danis.
“The living room would be Gucci and the TV room would be Dolce. They drove like three hours.”
In addition to speaking on McGregor’s spending habits, Danis also made the somewhat exaggerated claim that the Crumlin native could beat his UFC 229 opponent Khabib in a grappling match.
“Conor could beat Khabib in a grappling match. I think if you put them in a grappling match – like ADCC – I think people would be surprised.
“Conor is a special athlete. The way he moves his body. He has the ability to move in certain ways and make passes and stuff. He’s a really good athlete.
“Chad Mendes is a better wrestler than Khabib. What credentials does Khabib have in wrestling? Maybe in sambo. Chad Mendes was second in NCAA.”
Danis is well known for his lofty claims with many predicting that Conor will have trouble against Khabib’s high level wrestling skills.
When asked for a prediction, Danis claimed that McGregor’s striking would be simply too much for the current lightweight champion.
“Michael Johnson caught Khabib. Michael Johnson is not at the level that Conor is.”
