Dana White On Cowboy Vs McGregor: “If These Two Want To Fight I’m In”

UFC President Dana White has had his say on a potential lightweight bout between Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone.

There had been rumblings of a fight between the pair after Cowboy confirmed his return to lightweight and after a dominant victory over Alexander Hernandez on UFC’s debut card on ESPN+, McGregor, clearly impressed, tweeted that he would fight Cerrone after his win.

The pair then continued to exchange messages over social media with the potential for what would surely be an incredible fight between two of the sports biggest names, hotting up.

The two fighters aren’t the only ones who like the idea of a fight with one another as UFC President Dana White explained while speaking on ESPN.

“I like that fight, too,” White said about McGregor vs. Cerrone. “They both have called each other out. First ‘Cowboy’, tell me the last boring fight that guy was in. The answer’s never. He just busted into the top 10, warrior, unbelievable fight he just had and Conor McGregor’s fought anybody we’ve ever asked to.

“If these two want to fight, I’m in.”

A fight between McGregor and Cowboy would still likely be a while away yet as the Notorious One must serve out the remainder of his six-month suspension which was recently handed down to him by the NSAC for his involvement in the post-UFC 229 melee.

McGregor can return to fighting after April 6th so either the Summer or, more so, the Autumn are potential timeframes for what would be a super fight in the 155lb division.

White also touched on the possibility of a McGregor vs Khabib rematch, outlining that he feels when the lightweight champion returns from his suspension, the likelihood will be a title fight against Tony Ferguson while the Notorious one faces Cowboy, with the winners squaring off for the belt.
