The latest addition to the UFC 232 lineup has been confirmed with Chad Mendes set to fight Alex Volkanovski in a featherweight bout.
Mendes (18-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) made his return to the octagon in July after more than two years out following a U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) suspension.
It was an emphatic return as he scored he scored a first-round technical knockout over Myles Jury at UFC Fight Night 133.
Volkanovski (18-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) called out Mendes on the same night after the Australian beat his Team Alpha Male teammate Darren Elkins.
“I would like that fight, he’s [Mendes] a big name,” he said after the fight card.
“He’s coming off a suspension. I don’t know the case in the situation, but I don’t like that sort of s*** … He obviously got caught doing something – they’re the guys I want.”
Also official for UFC 232 is a bantamweight fight between Douglas Silva de Andrade (25-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Petr Yan (10-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC).
