Watch: Chris Jericho Claims Conor McGregor Will ‘Definitely’ Join The WWE

No one quite knows what Conor McGregor’s next move will be – but after his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather – the Dubliner is certainly not short of future options.

Many have called for a third encounter between the Notorious and Nate Diaz – including his own coaches – but one man who has suggested an alternative career path for the two-weight world champion is Chris Jericho of the WWE.

The six-time world champion wrestler has suggested that McGregor should consider joining the WWE down the line – citing that he has the perfect personality and charisma to be a superstar in the popular organisation.

Many from the UFC have also crossed paths with the WWE – including Brock Lesnar, CM Punk – and now seemingly Ronda Rousey. Given McGregor’s superstar status in the States following his rise through the MMA ranks and his ability to back up his trash talk – Jericho reckons that he would be an incredible addition to the WWE roster one day.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated – Jericho praised his performance against Floyd Mayweather whilst also having say on the idea of the Irish fighter plying his trade in the organisation.

“Will Conor McGregor end up in the WWE? I think it’s a no-brainer, it might not be this year or the year after that because there’s a lot of money that you got to spend to get him in there.”

“But a guy that yappy, who knows the concept of cutting a wrestling promo… I think Conor will definitely end up there, it’s just a matter of when he wants to.”

There is no denying that the Notorious is always entertaining inside or outside of the ring – and the WWE is just one of many potential avenues that he can go down once he finishes his domination of the UFC.

Whatever happens – we’re sure we’ll be seeing plenty of Conor on our screens in 2018.
