The countdown to the Mayweather-McGregor superfight is well and truly on – with less than a week to go until the most hotly-anticipated fight of recent times.
As with any major pay-per-view event, there has been various promos to excite fans ahead of the meeting of Mayweather and McGregor – and the latest involves a world-renowned band ‘The Killers’.
This fight is so big it has now gotten it’s very own soundtrack.
The video below was released by Showtime Sports ahead of the ‘Money Fight’ showing the band in a boxing ring singing their new hit ‘The Man’ – while showing some highlights of both Mayweather and McGregor flaunting their skills both in and outside of the ring.
The song serves as a tribute to Las Vegas, where the fight will be held at the T-Mobile Arena. The band have also released another boxing-based single on their upcoming album. That song is frontman Brandon Flower’s recollection of Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson in their 1990 encounter.
The musicians also weighed in with their thoughts ahead of the bout on August 26.
Drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr said ahead of the bout:
“McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. It’s unprecedented right? I mean, two different schools – one ring.”
“I think there’s a symbiotic relationship between using a song like ours and Las Vegas and a boxing arena.”
Singer Brandon Flowers added:
“It sounds like an exciting movie in the 80s. It sounds like some movie, good premise. It’s exciting. It is surreal.”
There’s no denying that this superfight has similarities to Rocky Balboa films and one thing is for certain – this encounter will probably generate almost as much popularity as the cult classic movies.

We can hardly wait for Saturday night watching it.
