The Extraordinary Moment Marc Goddard Stopped Lobov Bout To Scold Conor McGregor

There was an extraordinary moment at UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdansk on Saturday evening as referee Marc Goddard stopped a bout between Artem Lobov and Andre Fili specifically to scold Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov are famously close with both fighters coming out of John Kavanagh’s SBG camp.

Although McGregor now stands streets ahead of the rest as the UFC’s biggest star, Lobov is still struggling to make a name for himself and, on Saturday night, he faced a promising up and comer in the form of Andre ‘Touchy’ Fili.

Unfortunately for Lobov and his SBG teammates, the bout did not go the Russian/Irishman’s way with Fili winning the bout via unanimous decision. However, after all was said and done, it was a moment involving McGregor that seemed to be the greatest talking point.

With a minute left in the second round of the bout, Marc Goddard made the drastic decision to stop the fight so that he could tell Conor McGregor to take a seat and to behave professionally as the 29-year-old was becoming far too animated outside the Octagon.

‘Conor, what’s got into ya man? Come on! Sit down please! Be a professional!’
