‘Dumbest Sh*t I Ever Heard’ – Dana White Destroys Reports Of Modified Rules Mayweather/McGregor Rematch

On Tuesday afternoon, a rather puzzling report begun to do the rounds online after the Editor-in-Chief of The Sports Journal claimed that a Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor rematch would happen in the Octagon.

According to Dubai based journalist Omar Al Raisi, Mayweather vs McGregor II will eventually go down in the Octagon with a reinvented MMA ruleset.

Posting on his Twitter account, Al Raisi claimed that, although the fight would take place in the familiar setting of a UFC cage, there would be no kicks, no takedowns, no elbows or no knees allowed – essentially, it would be a boxing match in an Octagon with four-ounce gloves.

The report circulated throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening but it was unanimously received with a huge amount of scepticism as fans and pundits alike found the mere notion of the unprecedented modified rules match up to be laughable.

Eventually, the report found its way to Dana White’s timeline and, in his truly unique style, the UFC President emphatically shut down any further talk of the modified rules rematch.
