Tony Ferguson takes aim at Dana White in fighter pay debate.
The number of fighters that are taking issue with their UFC contracts is beginning to grow with Tony Ferguson joining in and even calling out his boss, Dana White, in the process.
“I think we’re underpaid, personally,” said Ferguson ahead of his UFC 274 bout against Michael Chandler.
“I’m going to be real and I’m not going to say too much.”

Fighter pay might be a concern nowadays but the inability to compete outside of his contract or in a different discipline is what really seemed to annoy Ferguson.
“Dana said something the other day…talking about how boxers are overpaid. I asked Dana to box, he said ‘f*ck no.’
“I want to go play baseball, I want to do other pro sports. I’m an athlete, I grew up playing different sports at a very high level.
“I won a State Championship football ring… I come from Grand Valley State University as a wrestler, I want to go and do wrestling.”
Don’t listen to me, listen to a UFC fighter, @tonyfergusonXT, who has the courage to speak up. Dana White is a billionaire while fighters are itching and clawing to make ends meet. “Dana White the drug dealer.” pic.twitter.com/fyYb4COwQZ

‘Acting like a drug dealer’
Having to abide by his current contract doesn’t seem particularly appealing to Ferguson but even at that biting the hand that feeds him probably isn’t the smartest move.
“I want to go and do all these things but then I have this guy here acting like a f*cking drug dealer telling me I can’t go and do this shit.
“I want to go and make more money for my family.”
