Scott Coker seems to believe that Bellator are still in with a shot of signing Kayla Harrison.
Considering how up-in-the-air Kayla Harrison’s MMA future appeared to be for a while, Scott Coker seemed surprised to hear that one journalist thought a renewed deal with PFL was the likely reality.
Coker seems to believe that Bellator are still in with a chance of signing the two-time PFL champ. While he claims no official offer has been made yet, Coker looks eager to amend that issue.
“There wasn’t an official offer, we talked to her manager, and we talked about what a deal would look like.
“I think those conversations are ongoing, I don’t think anything is set. I don’t think she’s signed anything and we’ll talk to Ali [Abdelaziz, her manager] either tonight or next week.
“She’s got a lot of offers right now, and we’ll see what happens.”

The opposition that awaits
If Harrison was to join Bellator in the near future, the current situation in her potential division could leave her with some interesting matchups.
With Cat Zingano and Cris Cyborg looking like the fight to make, a patient Harrison could jump right to the top of the queue and have her pick between the two or a fight against the winner of the Irish women’s bout of Sinead Kavanagh and Leah McCourt.
That being said, a fight between Cyborg and Zingano still doesn’t exist but will if Coker has his way.
“I would love for them to fight, I think the timing is going to be an issue on that fight when Cat is ready to fight her, and we would like that fight to happen as soon as possible.
“That is our plan, but we have to have both fighters agree to that plan. So we’re talking to the managers and Cat’s manager and find out whether she’s ready to fight and will she be willing to fight Cyborg.”
