Cain Velasquez’s jail situation confuses Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Cain Velasquez’s court case has begun to puzzle Khabib Nurmagomedov after he was refused bail because he is still deemed too dangerous to be set free, something which the Dagestan man firmly disagrees with.
Nurmagomedov’s big concern with the matter is how unfair it appears to be, as Velasquez remains behind bars while the man accused of molesting his young relative was allowed bail.
“I don’t understand these things,” said Nurmagomedov.

“It always has to be fair… This is not fair.
“He sits in jail while this other guy is outside.”
Many have spoken out about Velasquez’s case but Nurmagomedov claims that the current bail situation doesn’t even make sense.
“What about this other guy? Put him in jail too. He’s more dangerous for people than Cain Velasquez.
“Never in his life has he (Velasquez) had a problem with people. He’s the most respectful guy I’ve ever seen in my life.
“Cain’s only dangerous for one guy but this guy is dangerous for anybody and he’s outside.”
Paying a friend a visit.
Nurmagomedov has a lot of respect for Velasquez and hopes to see him again soon.
“Yesterday I was talking with coach and asked if there was any chance or if it was possible to go and see him in jail.
“I asked him because I really want to go to see him. In a couple of days I’m going to be in San Jose, I want to go to see him, shake his hand, give him good energy.”
One common theme in the speculation surrounding the case is a level of sympathy for Velasquez as many believe they wouldn’t do anything differently if they were in his shoes. Nurmagomedov is amongst them.
“Anybody in the world that respects themselves, loves their family is going to do the same thing, exact same.
“Nobody’s going to think about law or something when it’s about your family. You have to protect your family.”
