Dana White is sick of Jake Paul targeting UFC fighters as the divisive YouTuber continues to add to his professional boxing record.
Paul moved to 3-0 as a pro with a vicious first-round knockout victory over former UFC welterweight Ben Askren on Saturday night and he is already targeting bigger names for future bouts.
Ex-UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley made it clear that he would welcome the chance to share the ring with Paul, while the YouTuber also insisted that his win over Askren moved him closer to a lucrative clash with Conor McGregor.
It’s safe to say that White has grown tired of Paul targeting fighters contracted to the UFC and he has told the 24-year-old to start fighting boxers if he wants to be taken seriously.
“Why don’t you go fight a fucking boxer?” Dana White asked Yahoo Sports. “What the fuck do these guys keep talking to UFC guys for?
“I’m going to have to slap them with a fucking legal letter, these fucking idiots. Go talk to fucking boxers. What are you doing?”
White also assured fans that he did not bet $2 million on Askren last weekend, revealing that he’s never made an illegal bet in his life.
As for Paul, he remains hopeful of securing a lucrative bout against McGregor in the near future, having previously outlined a two-year timeline for that fight.
“There are a lot of people,” Paul told MMA Junkie on Saturday night. “But honestly, when it comes down to signing the contract, these guys duck. Honestly, we’ll see.
“The McGregor fight just became more realistic, like I’ve been saying. I just want to do big fights.”
Paul reportedly earned a purse of $690,000 for the Askren bout which, according to the YouTube star, earned 1.5 million pay-per-view buys although that claim has been disputed by some.
