The duo’s media duties didn’t end with their heated press conference, as Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez continued their verbal jousting before their physical confrontation on Saturday night.
The UFC 205 presser earlier in the day saw challenger Conor McGregor almost hit lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez with a chair in WWE fashion, while the latter make a very disparaging remark directed at the Irishman and his girlfriend.
While it didn’t boil over to the same extent, that bad blood continued as both combatants were within earshot of each other once again on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
The final hours before a Conor McGregor fight often sees both him and his opponent look for any openings in order to gain a mental edge in the trash-talking stakes. The subject this time around? McGregor’s ghastly mink coat, which still carried its tag, much to Alvarez’s amusement.
“He rented it, so you got found out man, but it or don’t buy it!”
-“It cost more than your show purse, Eddie.”
Alvarez reiterated that the match-up represents an easy prospect for the former Bellator champion and DREAM star stylistically, but McGregor made light of that past experience.
“C’mon Eddie, you’ve been over in Japan or some shit. You’ve been fighting bums all your life. You’ve never been on this stage against a guy like me. You’re an absolute bum.”
The two will get to resolve their differences at UFC 205 on Saturday night as MMA invades Madison Square Garden for the very first time.
