Watch: Conor McGregor Reveals Who He Wants To Face At UFC 200

The ambitions of UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor are truly frightening…

Having just wrestled the featherweight (145lb.) crown from Jose Aldo’s grasp in December, Conor McGregor has been in the conversation for a further two world championships.

Indeed, he was slated to challenge Rafael Dos Anjos for the lightweight (155lb.) title this weekend, before the latter withdrew due to injury. McGregor now faces Nate Diaz in a welterweight (170lb.) bout at UFC 196, and ‘The Notorious spoke to the press after his open workout.

The possibility of a 170lb. title charge was raised, and not only was the Dubliner interested, he seemed to prefer it to a 155lb. championship clash at the approaching UFC 200.

“It’s probably the leading option. Dos Anjos is an absolute bum, I swear to God… and he’s still complaining! He and his team are talking all this shit, man up and fight!”

When asked what he thought of current welterweight king Robbie Lawler, Conor, while respectful, was adamant that he would be victorious.

“I won’t say a bad word about Robbie, he fights with his heart. He’s been around this game a long time”, McGregor gushed.

“If we fought, I would beat him.

I’m too fast for him. The size difference is nothing – I’ve stood beside him and I’ve seen him. Let’s see how that goes.”

Robbie was equally confident, and respectful, when asked the reverse on Fox Sports last month.

“You know how I fight. I just go out there and try to take people’s heads off and finish people. So whoever the UFC puts infront of me I’m gonna try and take them out.”

Ex-UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub, for one, sees McGregor ‘f***ing Robbie up’ if the fight ever occurred.

“Robbie’s not gonna touch him. Not a chance. I think he f**ks Robbie up, and I love Robbie! Style wise he f**ks Robbie up.”

As for the possibility of the fight taking place, even as soon as UFC 200, MMA journalist Jeremy Botter, who broke the news of the initial McGregor/Dos Anjos fight agreement, sees it as a certainty if McGregor defeats Diaz this Saturday.

We’re living in some exciting and extraordinary times.
