Watch: Conor McGregor Attempts To Throw A Chair At Eddie Alvarez Amid Heated Scenes

The UFC 205 press conference saw the rivalry between main eventers Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez finally catch fire just days before their Saturday bout.

Mirroring the relatively reserved build-up to UFC 202 back in August, tempers finally reached boiling point in New York this evening, with Conor McGregor being dragged off stage after a near-brawl.

The Irishman’s year-long streak of showing up late to press conferences enraged lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez to the extent that the Philadelphia native stormed off stage.

Fifteen minutes in, McGregor, adorned in a ridiculous mink coat, blasted his way onto the scene, stealing Alvarez’s UFC belt.

Alvarez didn’t take too kindly to the slight, grabbing back his prize in short order and shoving a chair in McGregor’s direction. The Notorious’ reaction echoed the chaotic fracas seen in his infamous ‘Monster Energy’ confrontation with Nate Diaz in his last outing.

Whether Alvarez has struck a blow in the much-vaunted mind games between the two, or the reaction represents an overdramatic performance on McGregor’s part remains to be seen.
