Bookmakers PaddyPower have given their early take on who Conor McGregor is likely to face next time he steps into the octagon.
With Conor McGregor’s win over Nate Diaz last weekend at UFC 202 came options.
Already the UFC featherweight champion, ‘The Notorious’ is still in contention for a lightweight title shot, and the money-spinner that would be a third fight with Nate Diaz would be a lucrative avenue.
Even more lucrative an opportunity would be the much vaunted ‘boxing’ match with Floyd Mayweather, and Irish bookies PaddyPower have odds available to bet on each and every one of them as McGregor’s next opponent.
Jose Aldo is the 10/11 favourite, with UFC president Dana White insisting that the Irishman either fight Aldo once again, or relinquish the 145lb. belt he won last December from the same man.
Second in line is lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez at just 5/4, who gained the belt last month with a stunning victory over Rafael Dos Anjos (150/1).
An immediate trilogy with Nate Diaz is pegged at 8/1, while any other fighter than those listed is available at 14/1.

Though the odds are stacked against Conor McGregor facing the likes of Floyd Mayweather or Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, it’s worth remembering that similar prices offered in the aftermath of UFC 196 in March had one Nate Diaz marked at a hefty 25/1. We do draw the line at 500/1 priced Ronda Rousey, however.
